Age of Empires III (AoE III) is a real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios and Microsoft Corporation was published by Microsoft Game Studios. Mac version of its taken over (was ported over) and developed by his MacSoft Games and published by Destineer Destineer and MacSoft Games. The PC version was released on October 18, 2005 in North America and 4 November 2005 in the [European]], while the Mac version was released on November 21, 2006 in North America and September 29, 2006 in Europe. This game is the third game of Age of Empires series and the sequel of Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. This game illustrates Europeans Colonization of the Americas, roughly between 1492 and 1850 AD (expanded in Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs to 1876). In the main, there are 8 European civilization that can be played in the game.

Age of Empires III has made several innovations in the series, in particular with the addition of the "Hometown" (Home City), which incorporate the features of real-time strategy and role-playing game. Two series expansions have been released: the first, Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs, was released on 17 October 2006, and introduced three Native American civilizations, the second, Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties, was released on 23 October 2007, and introduced three Asian civilizations.

Age of Empires III has sold over 2 million copies as of May 2008.
